At the moment we can only look across the Manche with envy. A Bit like Rommel in the 40's . Congratulations to Evert for a fantastic
achievement. The situation in England is not good at the moment so we have to compromise.
Some have decided to become Streetfighters(whatever that is?) others have decided on Thunderbikes
1,2,3,+4 cylinders where the rules create very close racing.A single had several wins in the last round.
The next round 4 races is at Brands GP one of the finest circuits on Earth There is room for at least half
a dozen Singles. Think about it

    Mono Lives!!

    Dave,

Keep the hope alive!!! The mono´s will be back on Englands soil!! The reason that I post ist to inform you all abouth mono over here. We are all sad that there is´nt a "real" monoclass driving in the UK. Over here it is only possible to drive wen the ESA/DSA and GSA are working together, only the ESA could not survive! Most important was that the Dutch and the Germans joint up. What you see now is that there are more drivers comimg from other country´s than the usual suspects! And far important new Young drivers!!! For driving in the UK with this circus we need drivers, that was a problem this year. I´ll tried my best to go to the UK and we had an opertunity to drive.......Contacts and lobby thats important, so the question is who from you guy´s is pulling the strings and is going to make (it happening) contact with the rest off monoland???????

you can always reach me at supermono-41@hotmail.com

    regards

    Racereport UEM Assen,

DOUBLE DUTCH FOR VAN DIJK IN ASSEN

Dutch rider Lex van Dijk took last weekend a double victory back home and is now leading the UEM Supermono Cup championship.

47 Supermono riders from 11 different countries entered for round 2 and 3 of the UEM Supermono Cup at the famous Dutch TT circuit.

After Q1 and Q2 it was German Pami BMW rider Manfred Kehrmann who took the pole with a gap of only 00.493 on Mike Velthuijzen, 00.528 on Lex van Dijk, 00.694 on van de Beek and 00.758 on Sjoerd van Buiten.

    Race 1:

At the start of the 12 lap race the track was still half wet and quite slippery but young Mike Velthuijzen took a direct lead followed by Kehrmann, van Dijk,Meiners and van de Beek.

Halfway the race Kehrmann was facing problems with his cluch and couldn't follow the leaders anymore .

Van Dijk and Velthuijzen were flipping coins for victory but at the very last corner Velthuijzen lost grip and crashed.Van Dijk finishd first, followed by Meiners and van De Beek.

Van Buiten who did so well in both qualifyings had a DNF due to engine problems.

    Race 2

Again it was a lottery for the best tyre choice as the track was still wet at the start of race 2.

As the lights went out it was van Dijk who took the lead followed by Mike Veltuijzen,Meiners, van de Beek and Lawes.

Meanwhile the track was getting dry and Velthuizen using a wet tyre on the front couldn't follow and was passed by van de Beek and Meiners.KTM rider Frauenschuh followed closely as Kehrmann tried to follow on wets with behind him Britton Mark Lawes.

Frauenschuh took halfway the race the second postion from Meiners and van de Beek who were fighting lap by lap for best positions.Meanwhile van Dijk was leading the race with a gap of almost 14 seconds.

At the very last lap van de Beek overtook Meiners and Frauenschuh and took second place home followed by Frauenschuh.

    Standings :

    1.Van Dijk NED 70 Points 2.van de Beek NED 46 3.Frauenschuh AUT 45

Next race : July 16-17 Most CZ
