    2011 and beyond.....

I admit to being a bit of a snob, I feel the loss of the British Championship status has cost the class dearly. I am proud to have been involved in such a championship. Pity it came to an end.
After a disastrous 2010, with a trashed bike, no rider, and a fairly gloomy prospect for racing a ‘mono in the UK in 2011, I was about to give it all up.
Ben Shaughnessy got in contact and invited me to support his Thunderbikes UK Championship; he is very keen to attract some new blood.
He steered me towards Martin Cooper, a former champion, and despite a disastrous test at Mallory when everything possible went wrong, Martin saw the potential and wanted to ride at Snetterton. The comedy starting routines and associated hassle of running a ‘mono (overheating whilst waiting to go, bits vibrating off etc.) prompted a few pitiful looks from the ‘regulars’, but...
.....we are currently 3rd in the championship... 
    Roll on Cadwell .....

ps. Don’t shoot Andy Turner,(him wot updated the website last year), he is working silly hours in a new career.
pps. Rob Whitworth is still the ‘official’ representative of the BSA. (and he’s got the chequebook!)

Ive just read the thunderbikes regs looks very good and the right way to approach a championship for unusual bikes. I think i may be going there for a play later in the year
We're trying a number of different approaches. (We still guessing, at this point.)

Well if thosee guys are the purse string holders and the updaters. Would they like to maybe organise some kind of get together or AGM for the mono association and maybe some us might volunteer to help in some way or take over parts of the organisation that they are not able to do any more. I would really like to help out if i can and maybe a change or injection of some new thoughts or directions could help.

I have just had a look at a few bike club sites and all of them have a class to run moto 450's and or supermono's.

    NGRRC has 3 classes 1. Gofasterbits.co.uk 450 open
    2. Pirelli UKGP45
    3. Perf Red Sound of Thunder
    Thundersport GB have 1. GP3 for 450's
    2. Supermono
Thunderbike.co.uk Will take any bike that the supermono's could throw at them although i thnk some of the minimono's maybe a little light.

Maybe its time to change from a championship association and the website should encompass all and anyone prepared to run a supermono.

Nick - Hi, Thanks for keeping the traffic flowing on the site.

I have to say that I've enjoyed mixing it with the Thunderbike crowd. I've been made very welcome. Don't worry about the power/weight equation. Since I've owned the bike (Yamaha 426 powered) it's been measured at 56, 55 & 58 bhp on different dynos. The 'official' Bemsee verdict at Cadwell last weekend was a staggering 47bhp. The screw-it-in-'ere said I could lose 20kgs. Cheeky bugger I thought, then I realised that he was talking about the bike!

If anyone reading this can advise: a) where I can buy another 10bhp, or b) how a 94kg bike can lose 20kg (and still work!) please let me know.
