    Who is running the website?

    Hi
Can anyone tell us who is the organiser of the supermono association now and who runs the site. As it is 2 yrs out of date and could do with a bit of a pep up dont you think.
From the lack of activity on the forums after the end of last year it seems any enthusiasm left for supermono has faded away.
Martin & Andy expressed an interest in taking over last year is this still on the cards?
We're trying a number of different approaches. (We still guessing, at this point.)

Andy Turner set this site up at no gain to himself. the success of the site is dependant on people
with an interest contributing ideas. The decision to go with Thundersport GB was always going to fail
as it was just a way for them to pad out the new class that they were planning. The fact is they don't need us any more
which also includes those few silly buggers who were duped into buying a MOTURD
AKA Moto450. There is a more natural home with Thunderbike UK where Singles can be competitive
This last weekend at the new Snetterton Hugh Freeman' 426cc single finished 3rd in a field of 30
So take a look at this option and lets get some dialogue going.

    Cool In Defence of MOTURDS

i thnk you are probably right about thundersport gb but i dont think we should be so spiteful about it as after all they did give the class somewhere to race and all credit to them they put on very good meetings and on the whole run their meetings very well.
I think the term Moturd is a bit harsh. If it hadnt been for the fact that the twins were put against the singles the moto 450 class would have been a good way to have a go at racing. I for one really enjoy riding mine. Im not the fastest but that not why im doing it. As far as i know they are also running a moto450 eligable class at the Northwest 200 and the TT this year. I dont see any major events chomping at the bit for supermono's.
Maybe to the purist the moto450's are a compromise but they do tick a lot of boxes for people who want to keep a lid on running costs or who havent got the knowledge or facilites to build a bike themselves.
We're trying a number of different approaches. (We still guessing, at this point.)

The demise is nothing to do with the club WE chose to race with as they offered the best deal. Also the Class died in 2009 not 2010.
2010 we were just hanging on to a dream.
its simple the dream is over
    We were
    To few
    To old
    and
    To slow
And got our butts kicked by better riders on inferior machines.
Andy and myself were willing to help in anyway we could to keep the monos going but as no one has made any contact and only one person registered for this year there did not seem any point.
Andy and I have decided to join the streetfighter C class (Thundersport GB)
Life's a bitch and i ain't through shaggin her yet.

Moto 450 was launched in August 2007 telling everyone that you could turn a motocross bike into a road racer just by fitting a few other bits to give it the same geometry as an RS 250 Honda. This was total
Bullshit. To date NO Dedicated Moto450 (single cylinder) race has ever taken place on Earth, despite all the hype and PR.
    Not spite just facts.

Dave you really are a rude and unpleasant individual. If you wish to slate Thundersport GB please have the courage to do it in person.

We put on a very good series and the riders chose not to support it. You don't like the Moto450 concept, because by your own admission to me on the phone 2 years ago, it does not do your business any good. Don't tar us with your money grabbing mindset please. That's all I have to say on the subject, over & out.

    Well said Dave Stewart!

I was going to retire this year, but having talked with Mick James we decided we would have another crack at the Euro's in 2011.

All in all i really enjoyed racing with thundersport, I just wished more mono's had joined in and maybe the class in the uk would have survived in 2011.
    no risk,no reward!
