2011 Supermono racing opportunities
You should by now all have received the new Thundersport GB classes and technical eligibility criteria for 2011. You will note that Moto450 single cylinder machines will now race as part of the Thundersport GP3 class as that is probably a natural evolution of the class going forward.
Supermono and Minimono machines will now race with the Thundersport GP2 class and have their own cup series within that framework. If you do reach a critical mass of 24 machines, that will then become my problem to find you your own grid slot (and it will be a problem I would like to have).
As you know, there are various other options for owners of Supermono & Minimono machines such as going to Europe, partaking in the Bemsee Thunderbike class, running with Sound of Thunder where it still exists and doing Aberdare Park, Olivers Mount etc.
Those of you that have raced with us this year will hopefully want to continue to do so given the level of organisation you have now become used to (I hope) and not want to settle for less. The regular Mono riders have become a valued part of our paddock and I have to say that their attitude to racing and level of sportsmanship has generally been great.
I can only wish those that, for whatever reason, intend moving on in 2011 the very best of luck and I hope you enjoyed your time with us. I hope the time comes around again when full grids of Supermonos are a common sight.
