    information sharing

If knowledge is power, perhaps a google usergroup or a "ning" page sharing construction ideas, resources, techniques in supermono fabrication might allow people to more confidently undertake fabrication and construction projects to get more bikes on the grid. This would be in a collaborative, comunity sense... one would have to forego intellectual property or discoveries to share information with others. For example, I discovered quite by accident that a Pegaso swingarm can be converted via a Moose bearing kit to work with a more common 17mm swingarm pivot angle vs the 14mm it came with. So, if mono builders are looking for a shorter rear swingarm, a Pegaso one would suit, rather than an MX one, or a custom-made one.
Again, we would be sharing data we have gained during our own trial and error, but the knowlege base that would be available to all would allow the potential for more bikes to get on the grid.
Just an idea -- similar to the Burge's ideas about the open source racer...

I used to frequent a dubious boy racer internet forum until I no longer owned that particular model of car..... ahem... but they had a specific forum for posting technical topics only. We could do likewise on this site..........?
