Supermonos are the original modern-day single cylinder race bikes. They were born out of the Sound of Singles racing formula of the 1990s, and have constantly evolved since then. Along with all the safety requirements of the FIM and the ACU, the rules for British Supermono are simple; they stipulate that each bike must be powered by a naturally aspirated single cylinder four-stroke engine, and... that's it. There are two types of bikes used in the Supermono class; the traditional Supermono, and the newer Minimono. Round 7 of the Buff Supermono Championship at Oulton Park was a scorcher. Friday qualifying and the two Saturday races were held under a withering sun, with the on track action just as hot. ...

A few notes from our trip to Snett:

The weather on Saturday was good; sunshine and clear skies with light winds. However, for Hugh and I qualifying was not good as the right hand footrest snapped a Sear on the out-lap. I did manage to complete a lap, but the repair took too long to see us back out on the circuit.
